Day 01:

Arrival – Islamabad Sightseeing
Upon arrival in Islamabad, guests are welcomed and transferred to the hotel for rest. Later, we begin our adventure by exploring highlights of the city, from its modern avenues to cultural landmarks. This marks the beginning of our Marco Polo Trail journey, inspired by the legendary traveler. The evening allows time to relax, preparing for the days ahead filled with history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes. Overnight Islamabad.

Day 02:

Islamabad – Taxila – Besham
After breakfast, we drive to Besham, stopping at the ancient ruins of Taxila, once a flourishing Gandharan center of learning and culture. Temples, monasteries, and artifacts bring the past to life. Continuing through breathtaking valleys, rivers, and rising peaks, we enjoy the natural beauty of the region. This scenic drive blends history with nature, offering both reflection and awe as we journey deeper into the mountains. Overnight Besham.

Day 03:

Besham – Chilas
Today’s journey follows the iconic Karakoram Highway, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Along the way, we stop to admire dramatic mountains, roaring rivers, and hidden valleys. Highlights include the Shatial Rock Carvings, ancient etchings that speak of travelers long past. The dramatic landscape constantly changes, leaving us inspired by the grandeur of the Karakoram. Day 04:

Chilas – Hunza Karimabad
Our drive today leads us to the enchanting Hunza Valley. Stops include the Nanga Parbat Viewpoint, where the ninth-highest peak in the world rises majestically, and the junction of three mountain ranges: Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindu Kush. We also witness the confluence of the Indus and Gilgit rivers before continuing along the historic Old Silk Road. With Rakaposhi’s snowy crown in view, we arrive in Hunza Karimabad. Day 05:

Hunza Valley Sightseeing
We explore Hunza’s beauty and heritage, beginning at Ganish Village, with its traditional homes and welcoming atmosphere. The day continues with visits to Baltit and Altit Forts, historic strongholds offering panoramic valley views. Later, we journey to Hoper Glacier, a frozen wonder of nature, before ending at Eagle’s Nest to watch a mesmerizing sunset over snow-draped peaks. Day 06:

Karimabad – Khunjerab Pass – Karimabad
Today’s excursion takes us deep into the Karakoram, bound for Khunjerab Pass on the Pakistan-China border. En route, we admire the turquoise Attabad Lake, cross the thrilling Hussaini suspension bridge, and visit Gulmit village. The dramatic Passu Cones dominate the skyline before we reach Khunjerab, the highest paved border crossing in the world. Day 07:

Hunza Karimabad – Shigar Valley

The highlight is Shigar Fort, a beautifully restored 17th-century palace that echoes the valley’s royal history. With serene surroundings and orchards, Shigar offers peace and cultural immersion. Day 08:

Shigar Valley – Khaplu – Shigar Valley
A full-day excursion leads us to the picturesque town of Khaplu. Here, Khaplu Palace stands as a stunning example of regional architecture, rich with stories of its royal past. We also visit the ancient Chaqchan Mosque, blending history and spirituality. Strolling through Khaplu’s lanes, we interact with locals and soak in mountain vistas. Day 09:

Shigar Valley – Deosai Plateau – Shigar Valley

Later, we visit Satpara Lake, a serene body of water framed by mountains. Opportunities for boating or quiet reflection enhance the experience. Day 10:

Shigar Valley – Gilgit
Leaving Shigar, we drive toward Gilgit, surrounded by dramatic scenery. On arrival, we visit Gilgit Bazaar, a lively hub of handicrafts, produce, and textiles reflecting local traditions. We then admire the Suspension Bridge, an engineering marvel with sweeping views of the river below. Time permitting, we may attend a traditional polo match, showcasing horsemanship and passion. Day 11:

Gilgit – Phandar
Today’s journey to Phandar is one of serenity and natural splendor. The road winds through valleys and rivers, each turn revealing new mountain panoramas. Upon arrival, Phandar Lake glistens like a jewel, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquility. Known for its peaceful setting, Phandar offers a retreat into unspoiled nature, where the quiet beauty of the region leaves a lasting impression. This is true wilderness. Overnight Phandar.

Day 12:

Phandar – Shandur – Mastuj
We travel toward Mastuj with a stop at Shandur, famed as the world’s highest polo ground. Here, surrounded by grand mountains, polo is played at 3,700 meters—a thrilling sight if matches are underway. The plateau itself is spectacular, with wide-open skies and rugged beauty. Continuing to Mastuj, we carry with us memories of one of the most unique sporting and natural settings in the world. Overnight Mastuj.

Day 13:

Mastuj – Chitral – Ayun Valley
Our drive takes us through Chitral, where history and culture flourish. We explore the lively bazaar, filled with local crafts and flavors. Visits to the Shahi Mosque and Chitral Fort highlight the city’s architectural beauty and heritage. Both sites reflect the grandeur of past eras while remaining central to local life. Day 14:

Ayun Valley – Kalash Valley
A full-day excursion takes us into the mystical Kalash Valley, home to the Kalash people, known for their unique traditions and festivals. Passing through Rumbur, Bumburate, and Birir villages, we experience colorful dances, intricate handicrafts, and lively interactions with locals. The valley’s lush meadows and mountain backdrops add to the magic. Today is a celebration of culture, heritage, and hospitality found nowhere else. Overnight Ayun Valley.

Day 15:

Ayun Valley – Peshawar
Today’s scenic drive leads us to Peshawar, crossing the dramatic Lowari Pass. The route showcases rugged mountains, deep valleys, and untouched wilderness, offering moments of reflection amid natural grandeur. As we descend, the landscapes soften, preparing us for the cultural vibrancy of Peshawar. Day 16:

Peshawar Sightseeing
We spend the day discovering Peshawar’s vibrant past and present. Highlights include the grand Mohabbat Khan Mosque and the Peshawar Museum, rich with Gandharan artifacts. In Sethi Street, we admire traditional mansions while savoring local flavors. The lively Kissa Khwani Bazaar echoes with stories of old traders. Day 17:

Peshawar – Takht Bhai – Islamabad – Departure
On our final day, we stop at Takht Bhai, an ancient Buddhist monastery famed for its architecture and heritage. Returning to Islamabad, we visit the Faisal Mosque, a striking symbol of modern Islamic design, and the Pakistan Monument, celebrating the nation’s unity. With cultural and historical wonders behind us, we transfer to the airport, concluding this remarkable journey along the Marco Polo Trail.
